Stand Up to Parkinson's disease! Thank you for the support, there were over 40 paddlers, many of them first time racers in yesterday's SUP board race in the back bay of Newport.  The morning started out cold and gray but the absence of wind left the water a perfect sheet of glass making it ideal speed conditions for the stand up paddle boarders.  This event paired SUP board paddling with running which turned out to be a great combination.  Expect to start seeing many more events like this begin the take place.  In addition to us, Kings watersport, SUP love and Hobie all threw down support for the race and helped support the cause.  This years Halloween weekend's 2nd annual Paddle for Privates took place at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort.  This is a fun stand up paddle board raising money for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, starting from the Dunes and paddling around Lido Island.  Many came with their best costume and SUP board in hand... because those were the only bragging rights up for grabs in this stand up paddleboard event. 

Vertex Stand Up Paddle Board was a proud sponsor of the first annual Catalina stand up paddle board festival that was the last weekend of September 30th through October 2nd.
